“Committed to Excellence”
Mike Robinson began his law enforcement career in 1981 working for Washington County Sheriff Bill Gutschow, as a patrol deputy. Through the years he received several promotions achieving the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Chief Deputy. In October of 2000, Robinson was appointed to the position of Sheriff following the resignation of Terry Horner. Sheriff Robinson believes his biggest law enforcement influence came while working for Washington County Sheriff Wayne Flora. Wayne led through example and taught that politics should never enter into the day to day operations of the office.
Sheriff Robinson’s promise is to continue to provide professional law enforcement services to Washington County residents, without the influence of politics. All civilian employees and sworn officers of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are “committed to our mission of excellence”.
